Craftsman FLAT Paneled Wainscot Kit

The Elite Craftsman Flat Panel Kit, in Primed MDF includes all the parts you will need to get a 72" (6ft.) finished height and use a slotted Plate Rail instead of a Cap to finish the top. The Plate Rail is meant to be used to display plates or small items; there are 2 decorative support options for you to choose from, Brackets or Crown Molding. All the parts come precut for a 3 tiered installation, however, as with our other kits, there is some customization to be done on site for height and width in case of windows or doors being in the way.

We have developed a new kit made up of component parts from our Flat Panel system. The new kit is much taller than our standard kits and borrows its appearance from wall treatments used during the Craftsman Movement which was popular around the turn of the century.

Specifications 8ft Version:

As illustrated, the 8ft kits includes: a lower rail, two middle rails, a top rail and a MDF cornice with a MDF plate rail with grooves so that the plates wouldn't fall off. Three sets of 5 stiles, 1/2" x 3 1/2" wide and 9, 18 and 24" high with the matching flat panels. All 12 panels are the perfect height and over sized at 24" wide, to be trimmed on site. They are made from 1/8" thick primed MDF board, and can be easily cut on a portable table saw, to suite any layout. This kit is suitable for an overall wainscot height of between 72" and 76". The extra 2-4" in height requires adding a baseboard and spacer in front of the lower rail.
