Capitals and Bases Specifically Suited for PVC Column Wraps
Can be Standard or Custom Made
Choosing the right cap and base for your columns is as important as the selection of the column shaft. The right cap and bases defines your front entrance and creates atmosphere that complements your lifestyle. Other than choosing the style that best suits your project, there are other things to consider when choosing a base and capital set. Different Capitals come in different sizes or thickness. In some cases, you may have a space limitation, and you have to compromise between the width of your shaft and the width of the capital.
Even with today's modern paint and wallpapers, wainscoting still serves its intended protective By default, we ship all our PVC column wraps with a Box Capital and Base, see drawing below. Other manufactures sometimes refer this box set as either a Ogee or Craftsman set. Ours are made using 3/4" thick PVC, see individual product descriptions for more specific details.
Each PVC Box Set or Georgian Set are hand made to order; they are manufactured using precision machinery and are sanded thoroughly before they leave the shop. Regardless of weather or not you see the desired size listed, these sets can be made any size to suit any column, call for details. HB&G offers an extensive line of Ornamental Tuscan Capitals sets for the PermaCast square columns ranging from 6" to 24" square (see PDF's to details). These square sets are easily adapted for use with our PVC Column Wraps or Post Covers.

PVC Hardware Kit
PVC Hardware Kit: eight high-grade, coarse-threaded stainless steel screws for the column shaft, and four Tapcons to fasten the cleats to a cement base. Most of our columns include two PVC cleats and this hardware kit. Having the right hardware on hand can be a big time saver on the job site.

Astragal Trim or Base Cap 4ft
Astragal Trim, 1 1/8" x 3/4" x 4 feet long, (16' is available). A 4 foot section of PVC neck mold or Astragal Trim used for exterior columns.

POST COVER TRIM 5"
PVC Post Cover Trim used to trim our 4" Post Cover. Eight pieces in total.

Universal Post Cover Trim
Universal PVC Post Cover Trim 1/2" x 1 5/8" used to finish any of our 4 or 6 inch Post Cover, for both top and bottom. Being ½" thick, this adds a total of 1" to the footprint of the column shaft.

Georgian Two-Step, Capital/Base Upgrade
As an alternative to the standard Box Capital, this Georgian Capital Upgrade is a more decorative option for your columns. Commonly used on the top, however can be applied to the bottom (please order two upgrades per column). A 2 3/4" PVC cornice and a 1/2" X 4 1/2" tall recessed skirt for the column shaft. Eight pieces in total. This adds a total of 5 3/4" to the footprint of the column shaft. Be sure to order two if you would like for both the top and bottom. If using on the bottom only, please advise so we can provide additional materials for installation.

PVC Box Capital Trim
PVC Box Capital Trim for Square Columns - 3 ⅝" tall and ¾" thick to fit various square columns. They will wrap around any wood, PVC or fibreglass column. All you need is a chop saw to cut the panels to suit on-site. Simply glue or mechanically fasten it in place.

HB&G Square, Tapered, 16" to 10" Craftsman Tuscan Capital and Base Set
A set of high density, impact resistant, polyurethane TUSCAN Tapered Column Base and Capitol set. They may be used indoors or out. A prefect match for the HB&G Craftsman column shaft or we can make a PVC wrap to fit. The actual sizes are as shown in drawing. The Base or Capital may be purchased separately. As a bonus, we include mounting hardware and a flashing cap for the overhang.
